Dear St. Anthony and St. Stephen the Martyr parishioners and school families,
One of my highest priorities as pastor of our parish family is a faith filled, fruitful and stable Catholic school. St. Anthony school offers a high-quality Catholic education for 380 students Pre-K through 8th grade. Our 50 teachers and staff provide a professional and fun environment for all. To make all of this happen involves our stewardship together as well as leadership in all areas of school life.
I am very thankful to our principal Elizabeth Bozzo for her time and leadership this year at St. Anthony. She has accomplished a great deal in a short amount of time in helping us move forward in a positive direction during a time of transition. After prayer and discernment, Elizabeth has discerned to step away from serving as a principal and explore other ways she might want to be involved in education while focusing on her own family. Her energy, faith, vision and professionalism will be missed. Please help me by offering our gratitude to her for her efforts this year.
Given the timing of this transition and after my own prayer and consultation I have decided to appoint Daniel Mullen, our current vice principal, as our interim principal for the next school year. He is very willing and excited to serve in this capacity. Daniel knows our school community well and has four years of experience serving as a principal in north Seattle. He will have my full support and involvement this coming year, as we continue to move forward as a school community. We have a plan to supplement the vice principal role with other staff members helping with professional development, learning services, spiritual and community growth, student engagement, curriculum mapping, and accreditation. I feel very confident in this next step for our school and as we see how the fall school year unfolds; we will evaluate the best possible options of either having Daniel move into a full time role or generating a principal hiring committee.
Thank you all for your support and participation in our wonderful St. Anthony Catholic school. We are still enrolling for next year and although with very healthy class sizes we have availability in all grades in particular kindergarten.
Your Servant in the Risen Christ,
Fr. Bryan Dolejsi, pastor
