Michelle Xavier here, fellow parent, currently obsessed with raising money for our school via the new Box Tops for Education app (BTFE).
Remember the old school clipping of labels from soup cans and cereal boxes??? Trying to perfect your scissor cutting skills to turn them into the school nice and neat in a Ziploc bag? No more!
There's now an easy to use app. If we all participate we can make a difference and earn money for our school!
Just for fun, I thought I’d illustrate how easy it can be to reach our school’s goal. Below is a story problem I recently made my 7th grader create for Mr. Pennington’s homework assignment this week.
Question: St. Anthony School has a goal of $1,000 dollars to raise for the Box Tops for Education campaign. Each box top is worth .10. If there are 260 families enrolled at the school, how much money in box tops would each family need to collect to reach the school’s goal?
Answer: $3.85 ~ 38 box tops (free money on groceries you’re already purchasing!)
Personally, our family watches for the bonus box top offers and we purchase those items to use for food bank donations. Double win!
For example, Target currently has a bonus offer of 20 bonus box tops with the purchase of any four Annie’s
products. (.40 + 2.00 = $2.40!)
Next steps for us to meet our goal:
Download the app, search BTFE in the App Store
Use referral code FK5B1RK8 to help us earn BONUS Box Tops
Keep shopping as you normally would
Monitor “bonus” box top offers (in the app home page)
Scan your receipts
Watch our school reach our goal in the tracker on the app. (I’m obsessed!)
Join me in working together to achieve or even better, EXCEED our goal of $1,000 by 3/1/2021!
