Welcome back from the weekend. This week will be a productive week as we finish up several units of study! In religion, we'll study Baptism by looking at the purpose, symbols, and rite of this sacrament. After a few weeks of spelling and review, we're back to the 'normal' vocabulary routine with 12 more words in Unit 4. We'll have a quiz over these words on Friday. Speaking of quizzes, we have been working hard to learn 2-digit multiplication and will have a math quiz on Wednesday, which will consist of several multiplication questions. We have reached the falling action of Tuck Everlasting , so we'll finish up the book soon and move on to the filmed adaptation of the novel. With the end of our personal narratives unit, students will revise, proofread, and submit their personal narratives by the end of the week. Finally, after working our way through 5 science mysteries, it's time to stop and review. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend with lots of time outside in the beautiful fall weather. I was unexpectedly out of school yesterday, but students did a great job working with our substitute. This week we will be returning to our regular 5 day schedule, moving right along through the First Quarter. In religion, we'll study an overview of sacraments. Yesterday students were introduced to a new list of spelling words and we'll have a quiz over these words on Friday. We'll focus on two-digit multiplication in math and will have a matching vocabulary quiz for the Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 math vocab words on Friday. All of the words on the quiz are in orange math notebooks, so reviewing math vocab a little every night is easy and will make a big difference! Language Arts brings us near the end of our work with Personal Narratives as students draft their final personal narrative project. Tuck Everlasting gets more exciting with every plot event, so we'll try to read a chapter or two every day! Finally, we'll be looking at the phases of the moon this week while exploring why the moon changes shape.

Language Arts brings us a new set of spelling words as we get close to the end of our work with Personal Narratives.
