Student Technology Use    Rosetta Stone Language Program   Grade 5 Keyboarding

All classes have scheduled computer lab time.  Kindergarten comes to the lab for 30 minutes each week; grades 1-4 come every other week for an hour.  Grade 5 has a dedicated keyboarding class that meets two times a week for 40 minutes in addition to their computer lab time of one hour every other week.  Grades 6 is scheduled for 1 hour per week for computer time.  In addition to their computer time and new this year is our Rosetta Stone Spanish class for Grade 6 students twice weekly.  7th and 8th graders work in the lab for 1.5 hours a week.  (See
Lab Schedule.)

If students need extra use of the lab for school work, please see  Ms. Judge  or Mrs. Grosz for a sign up form. The lab is available in the morning Monday through Thursday 8:00 - 8:25 if advance arrangements are made. It is also available after school Tuesday through Friday from 3-4, again with advanced notice.

Transporting work from home to school:

Grades 7 and 8 are required to own a "thumb drive" to save work back and forth between school and home. 6th graders are encouraged to have a thumb drive. You may email documents or graphics to your teacher directly or using the email address student@sasr2.org. If you choose the second option, you will need to see Ms. Judge the next day to access your email in the lab. If you choose email, make sure to include a subject identifying yourself, including your class (example: Cindy Smith 7A). Describe in the text body what you are emailing.  Remember, use of personal email accounts is prohibited as indicated in our school's Acceptable Use Policy.
