Music and Performing Arts at St. Anthony School

St. Anthony School is dedicated to providing the highest quality Music and Performing Arts programs. K-6 students study general music two times a week for thirty minutes. At each level, students complete four basic units: Dramatic (Theater) performance, Music Theory, Vocal Performance, Instrumental Performance. For a breakdown of each grade, please select the link below.

We are also dedicated to providing several extra-curricular performance opportunities throughout the year.

  1. Performance based electives: Jr. High students are given the opportunity to participate in performance based electives, built into the school day, each trimester. Past options have included Electronic Composition, Dance, Audition Prep and Liturgical Dance.

  2. Talent show: Students at all grade levels are welcome to be a part of this annual tradition. This is an opportunity for anyone who wishes to showcase their talent in front of an audience.

  3. School Play: This extra-curricular activity is audition based and open for students in grades 2-8. The selected group rehearses and performs standards of musical theater. Past performances include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, The Sound of Music, and Willy Wonka Jr.

  4. Advent or Spring Concert: All classes K-6 participate in one concert during the school year. Last year's concert was combined with the Culture Fair to create a memorable experience integrating several subject areas.

  5. Band: Students in grades 5-8 are able to take band during the school day as an elective. This is part of Kennedy High School's Elementary Band program led by Francis McKamey.
